Easiest to use for all sorts of applications
October 9, 2009

Pros: great set of clipart

"I found this software to be the easiest for all members of my family to use for varied applications. The database feature is far easier to use for mailing lists than the Microsoft applications that say they can do mailing lists. I especially like the print feature where you can select number of labels or number of sheets of labels and where to start on a partially used sheet. My uses included mailing labels for grand-nephews/nieces to Band Booster mailing lists. Also from Name Badges for a church Wild Game Supper to barcode labels for returning parts in my job. Great set of clipart that can be used in other applications, unlike some manufacturers that prevent this."

Just What I Needed
September 14, 2009

Pros: free, high quality output, intuitive to use
Cons: i had to consult the help file to set up to print

"When my laptop refused to start and had to be replaced, there were a lot of inconveniences involved, not the least of which was my business card design being in a format for which the new laptop didn't have (and I couldn't pay several hundred dollars to quickly purchase) the necessary software.

Avery to the rescue - with a high resolution scan of my card I was able to get an image of my logo, and within 90 minutes had downloaded and installed the free DesignPro and created and printed the same business cards. Except this time they looked better - crisper, clearer. I am not sure why, everything else was the same.

It helped tremendously that I already knew how to use the other software so there was no learning curve involved. I truly sat down and started laying it out. Most of the 90 minutes was spent on my moving things one or two milimeters this way and that way to get it perfect.

I have a luncheon to go to tomorrow, and going without business cards could have been pretty embarrassing..

I would have liked a tool for graphical touch-up, but that's more blue-sky dreaming than a criticism.

Very impressed by this experience."

Pros: simple to use
Cons: does not work on newer computers

"If your computer is a newer 64-bit computer this will not work for you. It hangs up when you try to print..... after you have spent a long time creating a business card."

"Downloaded Design Pro to create cd labels for clock faces. Templates would not print. From template screen I went to "print preview", then "set up" on preview screen. Printing options were set to "All", I changed it to "Current" and have had no problems since then. Enjoying the creative process that it allows!"
